Love this place! I have been here twice in the last eight hours. First round I had the beef nachos and a cup of Green Chile soup. Second round had the smothered chicken burrito. Everything was delicious! I don't know much about New Mexican food, but this place seems like the real deal. The staff were all super friendly.

This is one of the few places in the historic core of Sante Fe where you can buy good food at a good price. Not to knock the other places, but the historic core is basically Disney Southwest for the Antiques Roadshow crowd, and the restaurants exist to serve them. At Palacio, they do hearty breakfasts and good coffee to get you fueled up. Service is quick and friendly, and the environment is very pleasant without being a pastiche of Spanish/Mexican. I found this place with a quick Google search and it had good reviews. It definitely lives up to the reviews. It was great! We're were greatest and seated by the owner who was so sweet. The rooms and beautiful with local art and it felt authentic. The food was good if a bit spicy for my taste but my husband loves it. My kids loved their meals and their fries were delicious. We would definitely stop here again if we are ever in the area.
